Stacking up the offenses

NEW YORK POST STORY- OCT 22, 2024

A suspected Tren de Aragua gang member was freed without bail on a Big Apple attempted murder rap — and just nabbed sex-trafficking a 15-year-old New York City runaway, authorities say.

Enyerbert Blanco, 27, of Venezuela had first been caught illegally crossing into Texas in May 2023 and ordered removed — but for some reason ended up in a holding center in Elizabeth, NJ, and freed a month later, officials and law-enforcement sources say.

He went on to open fire at a man in The Bronx, racking up an attempted murder rap and then released without bail, authorities said.

Blanco was then picked up for drugs in Miami, Fla., fewer than two weeks ago — and freed again, officials said.

Last week, he was nabbed again — this time for allegedly sex-trafficking minor. He is finally being held by Florida authorities.

“This is a really bad guy,” Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said at a press conference Monday.

“It’s good to get him off the streets.

“How broken this system is,” the sheriff fumed. “Here’s a guy deported. Now he’s illegally back in the country for a second time. So obviously whatever this vetting system is at the border ain’t working. The border’s not closed. Illegals are still coming in.

“How can he be out on bond for attempted murder out of New York, he gets arrested in Miami for drug trafficking, and he’s out walking around. That’s unconscionable,” Bradshaw said.

“I can tell you one thing, folks. That female and this guy that was involved in this, their butts are staying in my jail.

“They’re not coming out.”

Blanco was picked up by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office with an accomplice at a Motel 6 in Riviera Beach on Saturday and charged with forcing the teen into prostitution.

According to police, the teen trafficked by Blanco had run away from the Big Apple on Sept. 12 and was taken to Florida for prostitution by Blanco and 33-year-old Yenire Karolina Pache Coleiton.

Acting on an anonymous tip, Palm Beach deputies tracked the pair down at the motel Friday, where the teen told cops she had been forced to have sex for cash with more than a dozen strangers.

Pache Coleiton, an illegal Colombian national, was charged with 10 counts of human trafficking of a minor and one count of interference with custody, according to WFLX-TV News.

Blanco is charged with interference with custody and resisting arrest and is being held on $100,000 bail at the Main Detention Center in West Palm Beach, online records show.

Blanco had been in jail in New York City previously, after he allegedly opened fire on a Bronx man at Selwyn Avenue and Mount Eden Avenue on Oct. 22, 2023. The victim was not hit, but cops charged Blanco with attempted murder, gun possession and reckless endangerment.

The intended target was allegedly the ex-husband of Blanco’s girlfriend at the time. The two were due to meet for a fistfight, but Blanco allegedly pulled a gun and fired a shot that was heard by a nearby cop.

Blanco was initially jailed on the charges, and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued a holding detainer for him a little over a week later, on Oct. 31, 2023.

But he ended up released without bail this past July 17, with the case still pending — leaving him free to commit the drug and sex-trafficking charges in Miami, authorities said. It wasn’t immediately clear why he was released by a New York City judge in the Bronx case.

Sources said Bronx prosecutors argued for bail but that Blanco’s lawyer fought for release and got it.

The Miami drug arrest referenced by Bradshaw occurred this past Oct. 10, when Blanco was hit with a moving violation and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and cannabis, sources said.

The Bronx District Attorney’s Office did not respond to a Post request for comment. The Legal Aid Society, which represents Blanco in the New York case, had no comment.
