The owners of the Edge at Lowry complex in Aurora were slapped with the emergency closure order late last week following a spate of recent violent ordeals — including the brutal kidnapping and torture of a migrant couple who lived there.

The city had requested the closure as officials pursue criminal negligence charges against the building’s owners — Five Dallas Partners — amid the wave of troubling incidents.
